Christmas In Downton
Nothing - Not Even Covid - stops Christmas!
Although it may not be possible to hold the Christmas Festival in its normal format this year,
the organisers are already coming up with a plan to organise things differently to celebrate the festive season,
The re-imagined event will take place over the month of December and Downton residents will be invited to submit photographs of their decorated tree, wreath, table centre, nativity scene, garden tree ..... or even whole house (wherever their imagination may go!) to form a virtual Village Christmas Trail which will be made available on-line.
The intention is to include some music, recipes, activities for children and and even virtual cake.
The organisers add "After what has been a very difficult year for many, we will include larger entries, that can be viewed from the street, in a physical Downton Christmas Trail with the aim of cheering up the whole village. We hope people will still be willing to share Christmas goodwill by making a donation to this year's charity, the Family Counselling Trust. For details of the trust, click here. This web page will be expanded to become the main site for the Festival. Currently (as it's only November) it's a bit thin - so please send your photos, music, recipes, and whatever else to: email@example.com or use the ContactUs page. Please note that music should be in mp3 format, and photos can be jpg or png format. The photos and songs must not be copyrighted or you must own the copyright.
